Charcoal, chalk and graphite with white gouache highlights on sand toned paper
9 x 12
Edward Cullen (sp?) ref

Updated image. Second application of gouache is still setting. God, it's hard to tinker with gouache.

Yeah, that does sound like a tough problem mixing wet with dry, but I think you made the gouache work and it seems to blend in well with the dry media and create and interesting look.

I've been playing around with some india ink and graphite images and went with white acrylic paint for the highlights.

I think the gouache highlights turned out nicely. You created a very good likeness to the person. Impressive.

Thanks! I don't know many people who work with gouache esp. alongside dry media on paper meant esp. for dry media - which creates a challenge, doubly so if you want to edit anything after you've already set it down on paper.
